The leverage squat machine, by contrast, duplicates the precise pattern of the squat, but employs a lever arm rather than a bar. Thus, you receive the natural plate resistance of the free weight, but with the control and safety of a machine. The L-SQ also offers a footplate set at a comfortable angle, letting you take all the stress off the knees and lower back. And thanks to the start/stop handle, the exercise will always begin and end in the top position. Also ideal for working the calves, the L-SQ measures 48 by 60 by 60 inches (W x H x D), weighs 188 pounds, and carries the following warranties: lifetime on the frame, two years on component parts (such as bearings and spring pins), and one year on pads and grips.
